SIMLEY HIGH SCHOOL VOLLEYBALL BOOSTER CLUB
The Inver Grove Heights Volleyball Booster Club is a parent run organization dedicated to developing a volleyball community that extends beyond the important financial support that boosters provide. Any high school activity offers students wonderful opportunities for personal growth, but the unique teamwork aspects of volleyball make it a special sport.
While the school district does require a registration fee to participation, the Booster Club also collects a fee. The Booster Club uses these funds to support the Players and Program with the purchase of:

Inver Grove Heights Volleyball Boosters' Goals
We want our booster organization to mirror the teamwork of our daughters’ teams. Although the reality of high school athletic budgets requires financial support from boosters, we want the IGH Volleyball Boosters to be about more than the money. We believe that an effective booster organization can:
To accomplish our goals, we ask for your participation in our effort. It may be as limited as helping with specific projects or eventually assuming a leadership position with the Boosters. Simley Volleyball Boosters will hold regular meetings throughout the year to keep you informed and included in our program.
- Increase participation numbers by supporting Simley Volleyball.
- Increase crowd size at all levels of play making it an even more exciting environment for our daughters.
- Directly support the middle school volleyball programs.
- With the help of the high school players and staff, introduce volleyball to our elementary schools.
- Improve the Junior Olympic winter/spring off-season program.
- Give our daughters the best athletic experience of their lives.

ARTICLE I
Name of Organization
A non-profit organization known as the Inver Grove Heights Volleyball Booster Club (IGHVBC).
ARTICLE II
Mission and Strategies
Section 1
The mission of the IGHVBC is to:
1. Support and promote the girls high school volleyball athletic programs that compete at a conference level and/or tournament level and to support activities related to those athletic programs at Simley High School and all schools within Minnesota ISD 199, 2920 East 80thStreet, Inver Grove Heights, Minnesota 55076
2. To support and promote the USA Volleyball Association (non-profit) IGH Junior Olympic off-season program for player development, including the promotion of the sport of volleyball in general.
Section 2
Strategies employed in the support of the mission include:
1. Developing and conducting fundraising activities. Allocations of funds are for the sole purpose of improving the quality of the volleyball program and its participants, as well as the athletic programs of Inver Grove Heights (IGH) schools.
2. Organizing and/or supporting activities that promote student and community spirit for IGH athletic programs.
Section 3
We the IGHVB agree to financially support the Junior Varsity Volleyball program at Simley High School with a salary cap in accordance with the ISD 199 Salary Handbook.
ARTICLE III
Membership
Section 1
Membership is offered to and encouraged for all parents and students agreeing to support the mission of IGHVBC.
Section 2
A representative (player, coach, parent from each team/related activity) is requested to attend any and all IGHVBC meetings.
ARTICLE IV
Officers and Responsibilities
Section 1
The elected officers of the IGHVBC shall be up to six (6) Commissioners of equal authority, as well as a Treasurer, who may be one of the six Commissioners.
Section 2
IGHVBC Commissioners shall represent the sophomore, junior and senior years of youth participation. At least one Commissioner, but not more than two Commissioners, is recommended to serve for each grade level of youth participation: sophomore, junior and senior.
Section 3
A meeting of the Commissioners shall be called at the request of any two (2) Commissioners. A quorum is defined as a simple majority of the Board of Commissioners. A quorum must be present to bring an issue to a vote, but not to hold a meeting.
ARTICLE V
Governing Board
Section 1
The IGHVBC Governing Board shall consist of:
1. The officers noted in Article IV, Section 1, which is up to six (6) Commissioners and a Treasurer
2. Four members at large. These members at large may be nominated prior to or at the annual end-of-season banquet for the fall high school volleyball program, and voted on for approval by the IGHVBC membership at large.
Section 2
A Commissioner shall provide notice for and preside at all IGHVBC Governing Board meetings.
Section 3
Any vacancy on the board during the term of office shall be filled by a majority vote of the Governing Board and such duly elected commissioner shall serve the remainder of that term.
Section 4
The IGHVBC Governing Board member is responsible for regular attendance at the IGHVBC Governing Board meetings. After three consecutive absences from either Commissioner meetings or Governing Board meetings, the Governing Board may elect to replace that Governing Board member.
ARTICLE VI
Nominations and Elections
Section 1
The IGHVBC has the objective of continuity in its leadership. Therefore, the IGHVBC recommends that Commissioners will continue serving through as many as three (3) terms of service.
Section 2
Commissioners will be nominated, voted on, and will hold their position for one (1) year. A term of office shall run from December 1st through November 30th of the following year. Elections are held at the banquet held at the end of the fall high school season each year.
Section 3
Commissioners have the option to withdraw from nomination for future service after a year of service closes, in which case the IGHVBC asks for 30 days notice prior to the next banquet election.
ARTICLE VII
Meetings
Section 1
General Membership meetings, which include the Governing Board and the IGHVBC parent/player membership, shall be held quarterly unless postponed or canceled by the agreement of the Governing Board. There shall be a minimum of four (4) General Membership meetings per year.
Section 2
A meeting of the Commissioners shall be called at the request of two (2) Commissioners. A quorum is defined as a simple majority of the Commissioners. A quorum must be present to bring an issue to a vote.

Expenditures
Section 1
A Commissioner and the Treasurer shall have authority to approved non-budgeted operational expenditures up to $200.00 provided an invoice is submitted with the request...
Section 2
All non-budgeted expenditures over $200.00 needs to be approved by two-thirds majority of Commissioners at (1) a Governing board meeting or (2) via e-mail.
Section 3
The Varsity Coach must present request for funds directly to the Governing Board.
Section 4
Only the Treasurer and/or a Commissioner registered with the IGHVBC bank of record shall sign checks.
Section 5
Selected Commissioners and a Concessions Coordinator shall be provided debit cards and have the ability to withdraw funds for the cash boxes and to make purchases. Expenses that have reciepts shall be submitted to the treasurer for reimbursement.
Section 6
No part of the net earnings of the IGHVBC shall inure to the benefit of or be distributed to its members, officer or other private persons except that the IGHVBC shall be authorized and empowered to make reasonable disbursements for services rendered in furtherance of the mission of the IGHVBC.
